MVR Falling Film Evaporator
MVR Falling Film Evaporator
The mvr falling film evaporator is an advanced evaporation system designed for high-efficiency concentration and solvent recovery in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and dairy industries. By combining falling film evaporation technology with mechanical vapor recompression, this system maximizes energy efficiency while maintaining stable, continuous operation.
Working Principle
The feed liquid is pumped to the top of the falling film evaporator through a circulation pump and flows downward as a thin film via the distributor plate. Fresh steam initially heats the outside of the tubes, boiling the solution to generate secondary vapor. This secondary vapor is drawn by a compressor and, after pressurization, its temperature rises and is reused as the heating medium in the evaporator. Once the system is running, the compressor continuously draws in secondary vapor, compresses it, and converts it into heating steam, enabling continuous cyclic evaporation. The evaporated water is finally condensed and discharged as condensate, and once the system stabilizes, no additional fresh steam is required.
Key Features
• Energy Efficient: The mechanical vapor recompression evaporator design reuses vapor, reducing steam consumption and lowering operating costs.
• Rapid Evaporation: The falling film design ensures a thin liquid layer on heated surfaces, allowing fast and uniform heat transfer.
• Continuous Operation: Designed for uninterrupted processing, enhancing production efficiency.
• Durable Construction: Built with high-quality stainless steel to ensure long-term durability and corrosion resistance.
• Easy Integration: The system can be seamlessly incorporated into existing production lines.
Advantages
1. Short residence time prevents degradation of heat-sensitive materials.
2. The thin film ensures high liquid flow rates, resulting in high heat transfer coefficients.
3. Low pressure drop keeps process-side temperature and pressure nearly constant, reducing or eliminating the need for sensible heat.
4. Flow driven by gravity rather than temperature difference allows for lower temperature differences.
5. Low hold-up volume inside the equipment.
6. Boiling occurs as convective boiling, making the tube surface condition less critical.
Applications
The mvr falling film evaporator is widely used for:
• Concentration of liquids in pharmaceutical and chemical industries
• Food and beverage processing, including dairy and juice concentration
• Solvent recovery and wastewater treatment
• Heat-sensitive material processing
The mvr falling film evaporator combines advanced engineering, reliable performance, and energy-efficient operation, making it an essential solution for modern industrial evaporation processes.
